Sydney Leigh released her debut EP “Crazy Beautiful” this January. It is a four song Pop EP with a strong positive message, incredible vocals and impeccable production. Sydney wrote and recorded with Nolan Lambroza (Sir Nolan), Steve Daly (Tracklacers) and Heidi Rojas in Los Angeles, California.
Sydney Leigh is 15 years old and lives in Lake Orion, Michigan. She has been singing since the very young age of 5 and started writing when she was 10 years old. She has also enjoyed musical theater and acting over the years, however, singing has been her primary focus. At 12, Sydney Leigh worked with a local producer and recorded her 1st original song. Since then she has been writing, recording and playing live acoustic shows. Sydney was born to be an artist and music is her absolute passion!
The “Crazy Beautiful” EP is a great example of what Sydney Leigh represents and if you’re not a fan yet you will be!
Bellus Magazine (BM): How long have you been doing music?
Sydney Leigh (SL): I have been singing since I was five years old. I have been taking private vocal lessons for ten years and also have been playing guitar for three. I started with musical theatre and writing my own songs. A few years ago I really started writing my own music and recording my songs.
BM: What inspired the song “Crazy Beautiful”?
SL: Me and my co-writer Heidi Rojas, wanted “Crazy Beautiful” to be a upbeat song with a strong message. I wanted to inspire people and to have the song mean something to everyone that listens to it. The inspiration for the song came from my personal experiences and life as a teenager.
BM: What was it like getting to shoot the music video?
SL: The music video shoot for “Crazy Beautiful” was amazing! It was a lot of work but in the end turned out great! The video shoot was about 20 hours straight, I was able to meet so many new people and create a lot of memories.
BM: What is next for you?
SL: I am writing a lot of new songs that I should be releasing in the near future!
BM: What advice can you give to other aspiring artist out there?
