Unveil New Video for “Month of Sundays”

North American Tour Begins THIS WEEK

Today, we are delighted to announce Metronomy’s brand new video for their single “Month of Sundays. The single is from the band’s fourth studio album, LOVE LETTERS, available now via Elektra Records.

The video, shot by Callum Cooper and produced by Julia Reed and John Hassay, drew inspiration from the Spomeniks – second world war memorials likened to alien art which can be found scattered across the former Yugoslavia and on Angus McBean’s iconic pictures of the Beatles that featured on the red and blue album covers. It’s a roller coaster ride, using intricate camera tricks which make you wonder how it was made.

A live favorite from the album, “Month of Sundays’” rich, chiming guitars and Mount’s distinct vocals tell a story of where everything went wrong (in a relationship): Someone once suggested that a song had been written about me by a disgruntled ex-girlfriend. I’m not sure if it’s true. But, if it is, this is my response to her and it.”

The praise for Metronomy this year has come from far and wide:

“Joe Mount blends Abba’s voices and Dexy’s hooks till the Seventies bleed into the Eighties.” – Rolling Stone

“Metronomy is for the people. The UK electropop outfit collects a varying number of fans, and many of them were out in full force…” – Consequence of Sound

“…darker, more satisfying, and ultimately superior record in their wake.”- Under The Radar

As Metronomy’s success has grown, so has their live shows and as the band play more and more headline festivals slots, performance and production levels have continued to developed.  Metronomy might be the only modern British act injecting real style into their performance.  Looking like an old school 60’s beat group Joe Mount sourced striking suits worn with polo necks and matching Repetto shoes as stage outfits; he has fully set out to ‘entertain.’

Metronomy is the sole creation of singer, writer and producer and expert musician Joseph Mount.  His band are: Oscar Cash (keys, sax, vox), Anna Prior (drums, vox), Gbenga Adelekan (vox, guitar)
