Last week marked a 1st for the NYFW (New York Fashion Week) circuit. Menswear designers were given their own week in July to showcase their Spring/Summer 2016 collections. Runway shows & presentations were going on from about July 13th – July 16th all across NYC!
It would prove quite difficult to recap every show, but here are some major highlights from the various shows I was able to check out.
David Hart — bold prints & colors, as well as a brand staple with excellent fit & tailoring.
Hickey Freeman — a go-to for classic sportswear & suits. And this season, Hickey Freeman is showcasing a great deal of light, airy colors to keep their clients looking both professional and fashionable!
Grungy Gentleman — Classic sportswear for men, relaxed looks with great attention to detail and with this collection, some bright pops of color.
Craft Atlantic — Modern, yet classic stylings for men with both casual daywear and suit options.
Nautica — A brand that never disappoints! With Nautica, there is quite the array of options tor both swimwear and casual pieces.
Michael Bastian — For the S/S 2016 season, the designer is offering lots to layer with, all pieces ranging from a basic, everyday use to suits.
Nick Graham — Love how the designer played with lots of fun, spring colors for next season!
Carlos Campos — A designer brand who is never short of pure creativity & inspiration!
Timo Weiland — The Timo Weiland man is not afraid to dress outside of the box, mix it up a bit. I’m in awe of the great use of colors, shapes, and prints with this collection.
Malan Breton — Malan had a clear inspiration for this menswear collection, encapsulating all about his return to his home country of Taiwan. The story and the pieces are all beautiful!
Ovadia & Sons — Great selections with outerwear & denim.
Richard Chai — Modern menswear for the truly hip, trendy guy
So congrats NY and menswear designs on a successful 1st NYFW: Mens. The men of S/S 2016 will without a doubt be well dressed, ready for work & play, all the while looking fashionable and keeping up with modern trends! Until next time….
